Boldini nella Parigi degli Impressionisti

WHERE: Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara in
WHEN: since 20 September 2009 to January 10, 2010

In the fall of 2009 Diamond Palace will host an exhibition dedicated to Giovanni Boldini.
Unlike the previous exhibitions devoted to the artist, the exhibition highlights works from the early period of Parisian artist '(from 1871 to 1886).
Before the portraitist of high society in Paris, Boldini was more like a painter in Paris.
In those first fifteen years he spent in the French capital, he drew every angle, every view, landscapes, studio interiors, nudes and portraits of people.
Boldini was a multifaceted artist who, like fellow Impressionists, (but with a unique and different style) ritarre heard the pulsating life of the city of lights.

Order in thematic sections, about one hundred works from the most prestigious public and private collections in Europe and America will illustrate the variety of genres and subjects treated by Boldini in these years of intense experimentation.

visitors will be welcomed in a brief prologue, mostly the work of Florentine years, an experience crucial to the formation of Boldini, not without consequences for years to come.
It then enters the heart of the show with the genre paintings of the early seventies that made the fortune of the painter among the wealthy collectors of the time, especially in America.
protagonists will be small and precious tablets feature a refined style and color shimmering, sometimes inspired by a gallant eighteenth century, sometimes fantasies exotic English style, or to scenes of contemporary life outside, hint at the artist's taste for historical re-enactment, and at the same time, interest in the transcription of the natural data and air pollution.

Una mostra a Bologna di Lucia Arena

WHERE: in Bologna - Agency General Ina Assitalia Via dei Pignattari 3
WHEN: From May 20 to March 20, 2009

From March 20 to May 20, 2009 in ' Agency Ina Assitalia in Via dei Pignattari 3 to Bologna you can admire the works of young artist from Genoa Lucia Arena (together with the works of Patricia Anedda ).
Drawings delicate and strong at the same time, painstaking but full of charm and authenticity. A survey of almost
analytical form given by small combinations of paper to sign vibrant blend of charcoal and decided.
works that reveal a strong personality trait and style and offer the viewer the opportunity to discover the many facets of the 'soul of the artist'.

Lucia Arena photography is inspired in its meaning purely monochromatic light and shade, made even more convincingly by the perfect use of charcoal that lives through the power of expressive faces, female bodies, with the softness of the intermediate scale of grays.
The choice of the young Genoese artist Lucia Arena to experiment with the prevalent use of black and white figurative subjects is revealed as an inexhaustible mine of opportunity to capture the soul of people, analyzing and studying minutely his face through his own personal work. Images in which the marks on paper, seem to declare, dreams, secrets, thoughts or memories are not decipherable to the viewer, and for this most intimate and hidden, memories that are part of his life.
piercing eyes, huge and direct. Visi
diaphanous, transparent and changeable. Slender bodies with a sheer femininity. This is the art of Lucy Arena which has a particular way of looking at femininity bringing a taste of high artistic quality, using elements such as a photographic, pencil el'accostamento of colored papers.
His woman is natural, a woman today, able only with its expressions to convey the passions, instincts and their own individuality. ).

Lucia Arena lives and works in Genoa.
Graduated from the 'Accademia di Belle Arti di Genova, over the years dedicated to graphics and web to take up the profession of web designer.
