From September to December, the work of Frida Kahlo will be on display for the first time in Vienna. The Bank Austria Kunstforum presents a retrospective of the Mexican artist.
The show is a sensation, never had been able to see in Vienna many works of Frida Kahlo. The Bank Austria Kunstforum exhibiting 60 paintings and 90 works on paper by taking the extraordinary career of the painter who died in 1954. - From the first self-portraits that recall the idealized figures of the Renaissance paintings to mark up the surrealist expressionist portraits. To complete the exhibition there will be photographic documentary material provided by the granddaughter of Frida Kahlo.
In Mexico i quadri di Frida Kahlo sono stati riconosciuti ufficialmente come "patrimonio culturale nazionale". Il destino della pittrice commuove e affascina da sempre: per tutta la sua vita dovette soffrire per le conseguenze di un terribile incidente d'autobus. L'opera di Frida Kahlo, che comprende solo 143 quadri (di cui 55 autoritratti), non smette mai di emozionare.
